Our Autumn Opening weekend was an eventful occasion with Professor David Bellamy talking to visitors about environmental issues that affect the Park Home Industry.
Not only was David Bellamy keen to talk about general issues, but also how here at Tingdene we are working towards preserving our environment, generating a good housekeeping platform for all waste management, key research into the use of raw materials that will provide long term benefits and even looking at the possibility of their workforce condensing their working week into 4 working days which will save on energy consumption and also emissions from workers travelling 1 day less per week. This was an aspect that David was particularly interested in and praised us for our overall approach towards changing the culture of our company towards a stronger environmental outlook.
David also discussed the benefit of Extrudawood’s product range which is made from recycled polystyrene. Tingdene have been offering the log cladding on their leisure homes for the past year and available to customers now from Extrudawood are also decking and fencing materials.
Those wishing to find out more about park locations and show homes had many options open to them, with Tingdene’s in-house Estate Agency, Locate-a-park and also 16 parks exhibiting within the Exhibition Centre.
Factory tours were yet again extremely popular as was the entertainment provided by “Strawberry Strings” playing a varied range of lively classical music and movie themes.
