Carol & Pete from Gloucestershire
Carol and Pete were shown a park home brochure by friends and were immediately interested in finding out more about the lifestyle and options open to them.
They were originally from the Wiltshire area, however had been living in Devon for a number of years. Carol’s mother however lived in the Gloucester region and they were keen to move back to the area.
They started visiting a few parks, some in Gloucestershire, some Warwickshire, and generally researching park options. The location was important to them and during their search they came across Orchard Park in Twigworth, Gloucestershire.
Carol and Pete were very impressed with the park and also with the show home that was for sale. The Tingdene Hayden Classic with its spacious lounge was just what they were looking for. So that was it, they proceeded to sell their property and moved into their new home in May 2016.
Carol and Pete commented “It’s the best thing we have ever done. The happiest place we have lived in and we even feel that we could leave the house open and it would be safe” “The neighbours are so friendly and helpful and so is Helen the park manager” “It is so peaceful on the park, no loud radio or football”
They are very pleased overall with what the park home has to offer them, including the flexibility to bring their own furniture. Having their own driveway is very beneficial as is the garage that actually houses Pete’s train set that many of the residents also get to enjoy.
Downsizing has meant that they were able to pay off their mortgage and also reduce their outgoings for example gas, council tax, electric etc
Having been together for 19 years, it is now time for a well-deserved rest, time to slow down the pace, and reducing their outgoings has certainly made the difference. They have 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren, so plenty of family time to come.
