Hazel from Shropshire
As soon as Hazel arrived at Hollins Park she instantly felt it was the place she wanted to be.
Hazel had unfortunately lost her husband after 38 years of marriage in 2009. They had 2 boys and 4 grandchildren. Hazel was looking for somewhere smaller as her detached house, although manageable, had a huge garden that need quite a lot of maintenance.
While walking her dogs one day through a holiday park, Hazel got talking to a lady on the park which in turn inspired her to start looking at the idea of moving to a residential park. Her son, who was living in Germany, was very supportive and encouraged Hazel to do something about it if that’s what she wanted to do.
This was all in 2010 and with the housing market as it was then, her property was slow to sell so Hazel took it off the market.
In 2013 she saw an advert for Hollins Park and as soon as she visited she know that it was time to think about selling again. This time her house sold within 6 weeks.
Hazel came to Tingdene’s Visitor Centre with Simon, Tingdene’s Business Development Manager, to look at the homes available and make her choice and was very impressed with everything she saw. She also went on a tour of the production facilities which she found very interesting.
Hazel moved into her home in early April 2015 and commented “ I love my home, it is light, spacious and airy. I definitely made the right decision” “I have plans for doing the garden which I can’t wait to have done, everything is lovely”
Hazel was pleasantly surprised with the community spirit amongst the residents and is now enjoying her time on the park, getting involved with social events, and her hobby of walking
