Martin & Dawn from Cheshire
After considering the idea for 7 years Martin and Dawn moved into their dream Tingdene park home in July 2013 and are more than happy that they have made the right decision.
Martin and Dawn are planning ahead for the future, they didn’t want to wait until retirement, they wanted to make the move a bit earlier and enjoy the benefits as soon as possible. Martin does plan to retire early and this move has helped him get a bit nearer to making it happen.
6 years ago they visited a local park development and spotted a Tingdene home that caught their eye and were inspired to visit Tingdene’s Visitor Centre in Wellingborough to find out more.
Visiting the Centre gave them more ideas and they started looking around for a park that would suit their needs. Being keen walkers they were keen to have access to the countryside and take advantage of local walks. They visited New Forest Park, Near Hatchmere in Cheshire. A lovely small development of 12 homes adjacent to Hatchmere Park. The site owner gave them some ideas for the design of their home, in particular full length windows to the lounge and French doors, to allow access to their patio.
When they visited the Tingdene Centre to go through the specification of their home, they spent hours working it through with the sales team and were impressed with the assistance and service they received. Their chosen home is a Tingdene Mackworth Lodge which they have soon turned into a cosy home.
Martin and Dawn have been married for 29 years, and have no children. They said “It’s like being on holiday all the time in our new home” Friends were intrigued about park homes and very impressed by Martin and Dawn’s new home.
When the put their property on the market they were very lucky to sell it within a few short weeks. The sale of their house covered the cost of their new home and they feel that their living costs have been reduced overall, especially with the home feeling so warm. The whole community spirit on the park is something that they like and are glad that after having looked around at several parks they eventually chose New Fores Park.
Martin and Dawn have certainly set the framework for their retirement which they will be looking forward to in earnest.
