Mike & Carol from Worcestershire
When Mike decided he wanted to take early retirement he also started thinking about moving into a bungalow. Mike and Carol were living in Surrey, complete with a large mortgage, and felt that is was time for a change.
They were inspired to look into park homes by family having lived on Oaklands Grange Park in Woodhall Spa for a number of years.
The location was equally as important to them as the home itself so they set about looking for a suitable park and found themselves visiting quite a few and within various locations until finally they came across Leedons Park in Worcestershire which for them ticked all the right boxes.
Mike and Carol looked at various manufacturers, including Tingdene. A visit to Tingdene’s Visitor Centre was all it took for them to make their decision on a Tingdene Dolben Lodge.
Mike commented “ It is a fantastic Exhibition Centre and indoors. The room sets were great, no photos, the real thing to choose furnishings from”
Their home was delivered in January 2013, during a snowy month which delayed some of the setting up of the home, however in April everything was ready for them to move in. The park installed slabs steps, fencing, a shed, and garden area so everything was just how they wanted it.
Friends have been very impressed with their home and have commented on how light and airy the home is.
Mike and Carol feel that they have made the right decision. Downsizing released the equity from their property allowing them to have money in the bank. Mike now has plenty of time to be involved with the band he plays bass in, and Carol still enjoys working part time as a nurse.
They both commented that the change of lifestyle has been great for them, they especially enjoy the community spirit and security that the park has to offer. Their park also offers a community building were social events are held for residents, which they both enjoy being involved with.
